  • Carménère is commonly known as the grape of Chile. Originally from the Bordeaux Region of France, it was thougth to be extict after the phylloxera plague in 1867 whipped it from the vinyards of France. 150 years later it was rediscorevered in the mountains and valleys of Chile where it had been mistaken for the Merlot Grape. Only recently has the Carménère varietal made a resurgence and shown its true colors.
